Boulder Creek Saddle Shop, in Kettle Falls, Washington is offering a 3-day "Old School Leather Crafting" class for those who are serious about wanting to learn leatherwork as a hobby or for profit.

This class will teach you basic leathercrafting skills necessary to launch into a new hobby or potential business. Class size is limited to six students and will be held at our professional leather shop. You will learn about leather selection, making patterns, cutting, hand-stitching, setting snaps and rivets, dyeing and staining, and basic stamping. These skills are the foundations on which all your future leathercrafting skills will be built. By the end of the class each student will have made at least two belts and a pocket knife sheath.

THIS CLASS IS FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE SERIOUS ABOUT WANTING TO LEARN TRADITIONAL LEATHERCRAFT SKILLS. It's not a "summer camp" type class. We are passionate about wanting to preserve traditional skills and teaching them to a new generation of leatherworkers. As such, we designed this class for people who want to become serious hobbyists or maybe even professional leatherworkers.

The class will be held July 24 - 26, 2017 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) 8 AM to 5 PM. Tuition fee is $900.00.

No previous experience is needed. Students will bring their own tools, a list of which will be sent to students after they've registered. Boulder Creek Saddle Shop will provide all materials and a safe, professional workshop environment. There are hotels nearby for those who travel from out-of-town.
